Hotel Welcomes Wildlife At Cricketer Farm
At Strongvox we feel strongly about maintaining a balance between new and old, working with the environment to ensure that we put back what we take.
When developing new homes, we’re always mindful of the wildlife that inhabit the local area. When reviewing our new development featuring two, three and four bed homes, ‘Cricketer Farm’ at Nether Stowey, several species of Bat were discovered.
Being so close to the Quantocks and Exmoor, there’s no surprise that the bats were calling the area home.
As part of our development plan, a decision was made to locate the bat population to a purpose-built structure within the new site. Our Ecologists and Landscape Architects together designed and drew up plans for our first ever “Bat Hotel” to resemble a timber barn with a clay tiled roof.
The Bat Hotel has now been completed and handed over to the local Ecologist who continues to monitor the safety of the Bat population and work with us to ensure we become the best neighbours!
We’re looking forward to welcoming our first guests to Cricketer Farm very soon, now our VIPs have had first dibs on their plot of choice!
